Invitation to Pray with SVHR May 7, 2024 & Newsletter

Borrowing Faith

When we go through tough times, when the doctor’s report isn’t good, when the bank account gets low, or when relationships break, it’s time to link arms with a spiritual friend. We can determine to stand strong, buck up, and push own our emotions with the best. No one likes to be thought of as the “needy” one. Nonetheless, life happens to everyone. It’s not always pleasant. That’s why God designed us to belong to a family of God. Some people have family they can rely on through thick and thin. But many more people feel like they can’t go to their family members with certain issues for various reasons.

Trying to go solo to stick it out can wear us down. We might succeed for a long time at work with not letting people know what’s really going on. But God’s design plan is for people to be in community with other believers. When our faith is low, it is time to get together with someone who has a strong faith, borrow from that faith, and let that faith blow fresh wind into our sagging sails. We might hesitate because of societal stigmas about mental illness, depression, or loved ones struggling with gender identity issues. This is when to ask God for someone who does understand, and/or is going through something similar. Finding a fellow friend-with-faith to walk down some of life’s darker paths brings hope and light to dim chapters.

It’s all too common to think that no one else will care about our trial. In fact, the opposite is true with people of deep faith. Most Christians have learned the reality that God cares about the things we care about (see 1 Peter 5:7). He meets us in the middle of our storms and helps us through them. The design plan is for us to turn and comfort one another. Paul writes, “Blessed be…our Lord Jesus Christ…who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God” (2 Cor 1:3-4, italics added).

For this design plan to work, we have to risk sharing tough times, (even lay down our pride) and ask for prayer. At other times, we have to be willing to take time to listen and pray with people that God puts in front of us who need encouragement. This is how we borrow someone else’s faith when ours wanes low, and loan faith when we’ve reached the land of confidence on the other side of a trial.

The Healing Rooms teams stand ready to pray and listen to God on behalf of all who come. All appointments are confidential. We also have resources on many topics from others that have gone before us and weathered many difficult trials. Come and borrow the faith of the team members to fan the flames of faith in whatever situation we might find ourselves.

God Answers Prayer

Since our last Healing Rooms Open Hours:

One woman’s stress went from an 8 to a 4. She experienced breakthrough in the dark thoughts she’d been having. Her trust in God has grown strong and the thoughts diminished by the end of the appointment. The day she wrote us, the thoughts had completely left.

One woman came with concerns that rated a “10.” She left with concern rated a “2.” She said her experience was compelling. She received the same word (from a different team) as she did in a previous visit. But this time she understood what the word meant for her. She has felt more secure in the Lord since the appointment.

One person came and said they felt the tension they had on their neck be released. They hadn’t realized they were carrying this fully until it was gone. The person had the interview and felt good about it. And there were two more interviews lined up.

One lady said her pain/stress level went from a 9 to a 5. She was deeply moved that someone understood her physical and emotional pain and sincerely helped her pray to God. She said the grace of God unfolds slowly, and it wasn’t until this Tuesday that she was suddenly pulled out of depression.

The teams prayed for jobs, interviews, moving decisions, students studying for final exams, finding destiny, back pain, neck pain, sleep instead of insomnia, decisions about work/ministry, adult children relationships, trauma relief, chemotherapy side effects to diminish, stamina, marriage challenges, mental well-being, help and wisdom in caregiving, financial breakthroughs, ear issues, blood platelet irregularities, Lyme disease symptoms, and sibling relationships.

Scheduling An Appointment

Together, Silicon Valley Healing Rooms Prayer Ministers are ready to take your prayer requests to God in prayer. They also seek God’s word for you in advance of the appointment.

This happens from time to time, and we are able to text you to see if you are available to join an available prayer team.
