Pursuing Healing
At Glory of Zion Church on June 16, 2024, Robert Heidler shared in a sermon some insights from his ongoing healing journey. His overarching theme was to “Keep Pursuing.” Several leaders in the Prophetic movement have been struggling with personal health issues in the last year. All of them believe they have more destiny to fulfill. In the process of recovery, they are receiving insights that take us deeper into God’s heart to heal. Their lessons are becoming keys to the Body of Christ to pull in this new era of healing that is coming to earth.
People often come to the Healing Rooms to “give it a try.” They receive prayer once and nothing happens (in their mind). All too quickly, they conclude “It must not be God’s will to heal me.” Scripture says, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers” (3 John 2, NKJV). “…Jesus…healed all who were sick” (Matt 8:16, 9:35, 10:1, 12:15, Luke 4;40, Acts 5:16 etc). Jesus spent a lot of time in prayer before His public meetings. It wasn’t just a casual or rote prayer. It was a focused effort. Healing is to be pursued. As we pursue, a process of dialogue and relationship between God and us unfolds. It is in the praying, in the relationship between man and God that healing takes place. It takes time and effort to develop this. So keep pursuing.
Sometimes people get healed quickly and go about their life and the issue returns. This usually means that there’s an underlying cause for the issue to return. If this is happening, then one can look at doing Inner Healing work. Is there a root cause, a generational pattern, an open door, a curse, or a predisposing behavior? Ask God first, and then seek a spiritual counselor to do a thorough analysis. At a minimum, spiritual cleansing helps the body, the soul and the spirit. It can also break generational patterns from passing down the family lines.
Some people get a partial healing and stop pursuing, thinking this may be all there is for them. This could be a time to work with other factors. See what the medical community says. Maybe there is a medication, a dietary supplement available. The Bible talks about how the leaves are for healing. Take time to ask God, research the matter, and see where He directs you. Always pray first before a doctor’s appointment, researching, and talking to others who have walked a similar journey. Sometimes there’s a tidbit said in passing that could be key to someone else’s journey. This is also why it’s important to listen to other people who have been healed or survived a dire diagnosis. Their stories encourage us. This too takes perseverance to seek these people out and go listen to what they have to say. God knows who they are and He is a master at intersecting people’s paths.
Proverbs 4:22 says God’s words are health to the whole body. Study what the Scripture says about the part of your body that is aching. Use a Concordance to look up the words “back, knee, heart, depression, arm, foot, liver, stomach, etc.” Sometimes God will take us to a whole book of the Bible to show us a heart attitude the Israelites had that God needed to work on (with them, and with us). The book of Judges talks about a nation that “did what was right in their own minds.” The book of Isaiah talks about a nation that “called good bad, and bad good.” 1 Samuel talks about a nation that wanted to idolize a good-looking leader. None of these things worked for the people. 1 Corinthians talks about what God does with super smart and knowledgeable people. People who are reading Ephesians are learning how to mature. It’s a progression of moving from sitting, to walking to standing strong. God uses this to strengthen our insides and our bodies to what is happening to our spiritual man.
There’s a lot of scientific study on the benefits of sound on the body. One test showed how playing music to red blood cells caused them to grow, and no sound caused them to die. (https://x.com/Thekeksociety/status/1804170158228799580 )
If someone doesn’t think they have time to take a walk in nature, it might be time to prioritize this. The very sounds on a walk invigorate our senses and bring relief to the daily sounds of horns honking, brakes screeching, text beeps, angry voices, bad news vibes, dishes clanging as we put them away, or random firecracker sounds.
Healing music often comes in a different hertz sound that what is played on the radio. Seeking this out takes a little extra time and effort. This may be different for every person, so it needs to be a personal search. Soothing music can bring rest and healing to both the soul and the body.
All these things require pursuing. Most of the time, healing is not a one-and-done solution. It’s about process and sometimes permanent change. God is often found in the process or pursuing Him and pursuing healing. Matthew 7:7 AMP says, “Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened.” Whatever you are going through, God has answers for you. Keep pursuing until you get an answer.
God Answers Prayer
Since our last Healing Rooms Open Hours:
One woman came with a lingering cough. She reported back that her cough was greatly improved after her appointment. She also sought some direction from God in some career decisions. While no specific direction has unfolded yet, she feels God is with her on the path.
One woman’s husband was in a car accident. The team prayed for him and he is recovering nicely. Also the insurance company has stepped up to take care of all their part of the payments and fixing to car.
One woman asked for prayer on an ongoing family argument. Not everyone has changed their position, but she can see God’s work on her heart for seeing them differently, as God sees them, and not through the lens of heated emotions. She is learning to trust God for solutions, and not just argue to get people to change.
The teams prayed for anger issues, recovery from a car accident, family members who practice witchcraft, mother-daughter relationships, job search, identity-clarity, discernment, wisdom, understanding, breakthrough, economic prosperity, finding a place in the marketplace ministry, peace, strength, dealing with divorce, grief, looking for work, trusting in God, upcoming surgery, home remodel, legal counsel, protection guidance, wisdom, addiction issues, salvation, freedom from fear, blood pressure regulation, throat cancer, collapsed lung, diabetes, colitis, joint discomfort, emotional healing, low energy, stomach aches, starting a new job, feeling alone in life, relinquishing fear, finding relationships, daughter to be saved, strongholds in family to be cast down, interpreting a dream, bipolar issues, caregiving a mother long distance, hip pain, and shame removal.
