Invitation to Pray with SVHR March 19, 2024 & Newsletter

Healing and Longsuffering Go Together

“For to one is given…gifts of healings” (1 Corinthians 12:8-9). Smith Wigglesworth writes, “I like the term ‘gifts of healings.’ To have these gifts, I must bring myself into conformity with the mind and will of God. It would be impossible for you to have gifts of healings unless you possessed that blessed fruit of longsuffering. You will find that these gifts run parallel to that which will bring them into operation.”

It makes sense that longsuffering and healing go together. Longsuffering denotes patient endurance. It is often translated, “patience.” Most people don’t ask God for patience, because the answer usually entails some sort of a trial that develops patience.

Jesus lived in the grace of compassion. He was filled with compassion when he saw the people and listened to their needs. More than once the Bible tells us, “He healed them all.” Healing everyone must have taken time with people waiting in a long line. Waiting to be healed took the time of the person needing healing and of Jesus. He operated in compassion. Being ill makes a lot of people temperamental. This too pulls on our compassion. And some of us need to implement compassion with ourselves.

Christians who operated in longsuffering know how to bear and forbear their request and those of others. The learning curve to get here takes time and also requires patience.

A common part of getting healing is dealing with root issues behind the illness and/or stress. This process can take time. Inner healing appointments explore patterns and roots to issues, but it may be a circuitous route to identify the key issue and process it. Once we learn this, we can repent, forgive, and process the trauma, attitude, or inherited pattern.

People who carry anger are usually angry for a good reason. It is common to blame another person for causing their emotions. A Christian therapist, or an Inner Healing appointment can help redirect the anger to the entity that is truly responsible – the enemy of mankind, Satan himself. The enemy is behind whatever is angering us. Once this truth is revealed, there are people who can direct a person to freedom through forgiveness and repentance. Deep forgiveness can take a while to achieve, requiring the patience of God and those around us.

Longsuffering can also sharpen our discernment giftings and skills. All these gifts add to the healing process.

Perseverance through an illness often drives us to prayer. Prayer involves asking questions and waiting for God to answer. Sometimes He asks the questions. Prayer allows us to pursue intimacy with God through dialogue. Prayer too goes hand in hand with longsuffering, as we listen for God’s answers, and God’s healing.

Learning longsuffering while we practice our “gifts of healings” is often the way God heals along with the medical prescription as we regain our health.

God Answers Prayer

Since our last Healing Rooms Open Hours:

A woman said that her visit to the Healing Rooms experience was good, and it gave her hope, which she has been able to hold on to since her visit.

One woman said she received the same word twice, so it really spoke to her about the season she is in. She felt she had more patience.

One woman received encouragement and direction from the Lord during her appointment. She was reminded of what God wants us to do from things in Scripture that were brought up in the appointment. She is seeing positive changes as she begins to do it.

The teams prayed for jobs, moving decisions and preparation details, searching for a new church, finding destiny, back pain, sleep instead of insomnia, decisions about work/ministry, parent-child relationships, trauma relief, chemotherapy side effects to diminish and energy, breaking curses, marriage challenges, mental well-being, help in caregiving, financial breakthroughs, knee issues, and sibling relationships.
