Pulling in God’s Presence

When a crisis comes into our lives, the best thing we can do is get into the presence of God. Crisis usually comes with chaos and it can feel counter-intuitive to stop in the midst of frenzy and get quiet with God. Yet getting into God’s presence is where we can calm, get in touch with the peace of God in the midst of our storm, and gain wisdom from heaven for the next steps.

We get into the presence by reading Scripture, writing it down, letting its truths get inside of us. If we’ve memorized Scripture, phrases or verses can bubble up in our mind when we need them most. Or we can speak Scriptures out loud. This is when our voice becomes a weapon against our challenges. Taking the time to open a devotional and reading the message of the day often proves to be exactly the point we need to camp on. Even on days when we’re living a whirlwind, the song on the radio can be a reminder, a comfort, or a whisper from heaven.

Wherever we go, or whatever challenge we have to go through, or whatever life brings, it’s better to do life with God. We can reach out and ask for God’s presence. Even in failure and fiasco, King David turned to God, “Do not take your Hoy Spirit from me” (Psalm 51:11). God remained with David and they got through the total mess David had made with very poor decisions.

Moses let the people out of Egypt, but they didn’t always see the wilderness as a good thing. They grew tired of wandering. They complained, and lost sight of the goal. Worse, they built and worshipped a golden calf. In all of this, Moses begged God, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here” (Exodus 33:15). The Lord responded to Moses with, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest” (Exodus 33:14).

Today we find God’s presence in the gift of the Holy Spirit. He is our advocate, comforter, God’s breath, wind, fire, rain, oil, living water, God’s seal and guarantee.  For more understanding, it might be good to take time to look at the following verses: John 14:26, John 15:26, John 3:8, Acts 2:2, Job 4:9, Job 23;14, Luke 3:16, Exodus 19:18, Acts 2:17, John 7:37-39, 2 Cor 5:4-6, Ephesians 1:13, and Luke 4:18.

Whatever level of God’s presence you have experienced, you can have more. Keep asking God about it, seek the more, and keep knocking. “It will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7). In His presence there is healing, wisdom and direction. Some days we may only land on the gift of rest or peace. Other days we may get one clue or learn what the next step is we need to go do. It may not be the full picture at first. But going to God allows Him to fill us up until we are full.

In closing, The Passion Translation talks about God’s wraparound presence. A wraparound hug is a great image. Psalms 119:114 says, “You’re my place of quiet retreat, and your wraparound presence becomes my shield as I wrap myself in your Word!”

God Answers Prayer

Since our last Healing Rooms Open Hours:

One woman reported that her stress went from a 4 to a 1. She said her experience was Great. And She felt seen and understood by God.

One man prayed with an interpreter. The healing Rooms was recommended to him by a friend’s wife. His stress level regarding a major concern in life went from a 9 to a 4.

One woman said she felt God’s hand in her appointment. She felt the Holy Spirit envelop her. It was a beautiful experience. It was easier for her to move after the prayer. She knows the Holy Spirit is in the process of healing her body.

One man said he “felt the prayer go through him. I didn’t just hear the prayers; I felt them.” He left refreshed and encouraged.

The teams prayed for jobs, interviews, moving decisions, students studying for final exams, finding destiny, back pain, neck pain, sleep instead of insomnia, decisions about work/ministry, adult children relationships, trauma relief, chemotherapy side effects to diminish, stamina, marriage challenges, mental well-being, help and wisdom in caregiving, financial breakthroughs, ear issues, blood platelet irregularities, Lyme disease symptoms, and sibling relationships.
