Accessing God’s Goals for the New Year
Happy New Year! As we move into the new calendar year, it is time to embrace what God has for us in the New Year. Now is the time to stop dwelling on the past and focus on what God has to say about the future. It is a time to make changes for what we want to be untangled with and establish new patterns and mindsets that align with where God is taking us.
Approaching the New Year is a time to forgive anyone in our lives who we need to forgive. Let’s start the year off clean. It’s not necessarily easy or simple. But it’s a lighter, freer way to move forward. It’s not about what the person you are forgiving does with forgiveness; it’s about what God does with the situation once we forgive. As we forgive, God makes paths through the wilderness.
Equally important is to forgive ourselves. Even if we’ve gone before the Lord with our sins, the enemy wants us to wallow in ongoing guilt and shame. We can replay what we’ve done over and over again in our mind’s eye. If God is willing to forgive us, and forget our sins, (see Hebrews 8:12), then we need forgive ourselves and forget the past. New Year’s is the time to move forward without guilt or shame.
Isaiah describes it this way, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland” (Isaiah 43:19-19, NIV).
If you can make some time as we enter this New Year to spend with God, ask Him what His goals are concerning you for this year. If you’ve visited the Healing Rooms before, it’s a good time to revisit what He’s showed the Prayer Team members in prayer for you. Even if you’re still waiting for God to bring the full details of the plan into place, we can thank God for having a plan and for knowing that every plan of God is a good plan. “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’” (Jeremiah 29:11).
God Answers Prayer
One woman reported that she had come to the Healing Room for prayer after a fall. The doctors weren’t even sure she would be able to walk again. It was a dire diagnosis. She received prayer, was encouraged by the prayers, and believed God for her healing. She came back to say that she is walking and that there is no lingering pain. The doctors are amazed. She gives God all the glory.
One lady who visited in November asked for prayer about a job transfer situation. Two days after the prayer, the job transfer was approved with full pay. It definitely felt like an answer to prayer after months of delay and postponement.
One lady came with chronic pain. She reported feeling like the appointment was helpful and encouraging. She received new insights and tools for reaching her desire to activate healing.
The prayers requests were for God to act on many issues including a safe pregnancy, heart conditions, chronic pain, jaw surgery, work stress, holiday pressures, caregiving challenges, stopping an online scam, bipolar symptoms, skin irritations, digestive issues, financial breakthrough, wisdom in decisions, wanting to use God’s gifts more, marriages, coping with grief, relationships with grown children, upcoming family gatherings around Christmas holidays.
Scheduling An Appointment
Together, Silicon Valley Healing Rooms Prayer Ministers are ready to take your prayer requests to God in prayer. They also seek God’s word for you in advance of the appointment.
Online sessions continue to occur the first and third Tuesday of every month. You are invited to schedule time to receive prayer on those days.
To sign up for an appointment, there are TWO STEPS:
1. Let us know your TOP THREE APPOINTMENT TIME PREFERENCES, in order of priority.
We will set up the teams and send the zoom information on Monday prior to the Tuesday appointment.
2. Share a phone number so we can TEXT you with scheduling changes.
In the event that we are not able to offer you the time frames you desire, you may share a phone number with us to text you if an opening should arise when someone needs to cancel an appointment. This happens from time to time, and we are able to text you to see if you are available to join an available prayer team. All information is confidential to the ministry and is not used for solicitation. This step is optional.
