Getting on Track

No one is perfect. Neither are we. People disappoint us and fail us. They do things that hurt us. Our daily lives usually provide several opportunities to forgive people. Alternatively, we can be the ones letting people down, even when we try not to. We can disappoint ourselves. Being a Christian does not exempt a person from stumbling. It does provide a way through. It’s called forgiving oneself.

Sin can derail a person. If we don’t learn to confess our sins before God through repentance, that lack of self-forgiveness can lead to guilt, shame, unworthiness, self-hatred, self-condemnation and self-rejection. Unresolved, these things can stay hidden for a good while, but eventually they tend to show up in the body. It is common to see the root cause of not forgiving oneself to co-contribute to anorexia/bulimia, chronic fatigue syndrome, coronary artery disease, depression, drug addiction, Graves’ disease, high cholesterol, shingles, stroke, and certain auto-immune diseases.

They way to get back on track before God is to tell God about the issues, agree with what the Bible calls sin, take it to the cross, ask forgiveness, let Jesus’ blood cover the sin and restore relationship back with Father God. The Holy Spirit will guide each person in what to do on earth to walk through every challenging situation the sin created. But we will get to peace again. God can set us back on track with His original plan for our lives. The process of repentance leads to healing of the emotions, the heart, the soul, and the body.

For repeat patterns that seem too challenging to overcome, it helps to ask God for a tool to stay on track. He has something for everyone. He may give a person a particular scripture to memorize and believe in. He may highlight a promise in scripture to offer confidence going forward. A person may think of a song. Or it might be the nudge to create a boundary. He may suggest a prayer partner to pray every time we walk near temptation. He may focus and develop the fruit of discipline. A simple phrase such as, “I don’t receive that,” in the face of inaccurate statements said about us can prove to be a powerful tool.

Choosing to quickly get right in our relationship with God and back on track with His unique life-plan for our lives, propels us into fulfilling our destiny, and staying in health.

God Answers Prayer

Since our last Healing Rooms’ Open Hours:

A lady came in with a sharp pain in her shoulder leading to the upper neck. It was hard to move her arms. The team prayed. She said her pain was severe, and rated it a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10. She listened to the prayers and the words ahead of time that the prayer team received for her. There wasn’t much change by the end of the appointment. But later, the woman said her pain had gone from a 9 to a 5 the next morning. And she reported that the prayers were continuing to work.

Another person came with pain in their back. Their pain level went from a 4 to a 3. They took to heart the words the team received in advanced and felt some movement in their back.

Note: Silicon Valley Healing Rooms encourages people to thank God for any improvement in their pain levels. Responding to the first sign of healing with thanksgiving often produces better and better results with time. When people respond in frustration that the pain hasn’t completely gone away after one prayer, it can take longer to get the prayed-for results.

One lady prayed about a job and moving to a new location. Her stress level went from a 6 to a 2 after the appointment. Following the appointment, there was a tax refund deposited into her bank account which allowed for a down payment on the new living place. The business plan received prayer and was submitted. The woman appreciated the peace and confidence she received as the prayer partners lifted her concerns up in prayer. She expressed gratitude that other prayer warriors would come alongside and join her in her prayer requests.

One lady came in with a serious decision to make about staying in a job or leaving. She had an indication of what God might want for her. But she came and listened to the words the team received for her before the appointment. She was grateful for the prayers. She made a very difficult decision in the next few days with peace and confidence. God gave her confirmation and courage as she took the necessary steps.

The teams prayed for job interviews, scary dreams, finding housing, chemo treatments to be effective and complete healing, court cases, finding a church, finding spouses, finding different friends, decisions about work, hearing conditions, adult children relationships, office politics, fractured knees, trauma relief, clear thinking after the fog of COVID, breast cancer diagnosis, hope in the face of doors closing, and healthy marriages.
