Invitation to Pray with SVHR April 16, 2024 & Newsletter

Life in the Word

Many spiritual leaders read through the Bible consistently year after year. Sometimes it can take a year. Sometimes it takes two or three years to plow through the entire Bible. The good news is that It reads like a story much of the time. Smith Wigglesworth believed, “None of us can be strong in God unless we are diligently and constantly listening to what God has to say to you through His Word.”

Every time we read through the Bible, we glean different things out of it. Our current circumstances can also make various characters come alive. Certain kings might remind us of current world leaders. Biblical examples of fathers might remind us of modern-day fathers. College students selecting careers might enjoy reading about builders, artisans, teachers, and leaders in the Bible. When we are facing decisions, we pay attention to men and women of the Bible who made decisions and how it changed the course of history. When we don’t feel well, and read the Scriptures, the verses that speak to healing seem to jump off the pages as pertinent to our situation.

It is in Exodus that the Lord identifies Himself as, “the LORD who heals you” (Exodus 15:26). Other Scriptures talk about God’s protection. “As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him” (Psalm 18:30). Many verses talk about the way God leads us on life’s path. “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye” (Psalm 32:8). The Bible has several verses about heading into unknown territory. “I will go before you and make the crooked places straight” (Isaiah 45:2).

The Word of God is powerful and living (see Hebrews 4:12). Reading Scripture can actually give life. “This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your word has given me life” (Psalm119:50). Memorizing Scripture is one way to plant seeds of life in our bodies. As we receive God’s Word, our whole physical being will be given life, and we will be made strong. As we receive with meekness the Word (James 1:21), you will find faith springing up within. There is life in the Word. Psalm 107:20 says, “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”

The more we read Scripture, the more the Word of God abides in us, and makes us strong. It gives us the power to overcome the wicked one and his case against us. If any of us is battling illness, then Scripture is a great tool to learn to speak back to the enemy about his evil plans. John writes in 1 John 2:14, “I have written to you…because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.” 3 John 2 says, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” Our soul includes our mind, our will, and our emotions. The Bible connects a link between our soul and our health. Exploring this link can lead to physical health.

God Answers Prayer

Since our last Healing Rooms Open Hours:

A woman said her pain went from a 5 to 0 (on a scale of 1 to 10). She received prayer and encouragement. The appointment reminded her of how God cared about her in the midst of challenging circumstances and challenging people. She left feeling stronger.

One woman said her stress went from a 7 to a 5. She said had a positive experience. She appreciated the insight offered, which gave her much to think about. It helped provide some peace of mind.

The teams prayed for jobs, moving decisions, taking a final exam, finding destiny, back pain, sleep instead of insomnia, decisions about work/ministry, adult children relationships, trauma relief, chemotherapy side effects to diminish, stamina, marriage challenges, mental well-being, help and wisdom in caregiving, financial breakthroughs, ear issues, blood platelet irregularities, Lyme disease symptoms, and sibling relationships.
