THE HOLY SPIRIT IS ACTIVE

Next Sunday is Pentecost Sunday.  In the face of what seemed like defeat and devastation for the people who believed Jesus was God’s son, God was getting ready to answer the prayers of His children (past generations, current generations and future generations) with the introduction of the Holy Spirit for each man and woman who recognized Jesus Christ as God’s son.  With great joy, we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit who takes up residence in us.  We delight in the privilege of sharing our lives with the Holy Spirit.  We have access to His counsel, His wisdom, His knowledge of things we can’t know, His comfort, and His friendship.  He loves that the Silicon Valley Healing Rooms Team and Intercessors ready ourselves in advance of all He wants to do on Tuesday May 19.  May this be a time of joyful worship and praise till we meet on Tuesday.

GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS

Sometimes unanswered prayers can make people wonder what God’s love really looks like.  A woman came to the Healing Rooms with such a question.  The team prayed in advance.  They saw a one-on-one conversation going on with Jesus and the woman. Jesus patiently answered each question and she returned with more questions.  The team reassured the woman of God’s goodness.  They encouraged her to keep asking her questions to God.  And they prayed with her regarding the questions.  She left feeling good about her prayer dialogue with God.

One team prayed ahead of time that God is the vinedresser and he was pruning the woman.  The other member of the team added that God has the woman on a fast path and He is not showing her what is around the corner but says, “Fear not, I have you in the palm of my hand.”  The woman had come in asking for prayer regarding a job situation.  The woman felt God knew all about the situation and was deeply encouraged that God was guiding her in the steps of the process.

The team prayed and wrote down, “God is her refuge and strength. Today is the beginning of her freedom,” along with several scriptures.  The other team member heard, “Words of destiny are in this person.  The words will bring truth and life.”  The woman was encouraged.  She asked for prayer on anxiety, broken expectatons and depression.  She said she felt there was destiny for her life.  She left feeling lighter.

HEALING THOUGHT

“I…write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith…”  Jude 3

Perhaps it is a season of contending for the things we ask bring to God in prayer.  We are invited to go before God and lay out the reasons behind why we are requesting what we are seeking from Him.  Many of the patriarchs of faith used facts about God to as part of their prayer.  Let’s look at Nehemiah’s prayer in 9:31-32.

“Nevertheless in Your great mercy
You did not utterly consume them nor forsake them;
For You are God, gracious and merciful.

32 “Now therefore, our God,
The great, the mighty, and awesome God,
Who keeps covenant and mercy:
Do not let all the trouble seem small before You
That has come upon us.”

Nehemiah contended with God to help them in the troubles the Israelites were in. God did help them with their enemies and the wall of Jerusalem got built.

INTERCESSOR NOTES

We often hear reports of people who visit the Healing Rooms commenting on the “coincidence” that they made it to the Healing Rooms.  Or they might share that their visit almost didn’t happen.  Or how they tried to come previously, but something came up.

The Lord knows who is thinking of visiting the Silicon Valley Healing Rooms on May 19.  Let us join together in asking God to bring all who have been “meaning to visit,” but haven’t yet.  May God open the doors for them to be able to come, or to overcome whatever obstacles might be in their path.
