They Say We Say

Recently at church, a woman on the worship team shared her story that the doctors said she would never hear again out of one of her ears. This would impact her job and her passion. She immediately pushed back by saying, “That’s what the medical world says. But I know my God and I know what He says. God can heal anything.” That began an eight month journey of struggling to believe what God had said in the face of what the doctors kept saying. She went through 10 tests. The first two showed the same results. She kept believing that God can heal anything, and would heal her. The experts kept saying it was impossible. The third test showed minor improvement. They kept saying it wasn’t really going to make any difference; the hearing was gone forever. She kept saying she knew God could heal her. And she pressed in daily to the Bible and standing in belief with the miracles that are promised to those who believe. She believed (and was absolutely convinced) this truth was for her. Seven tests later and the doctors were amazed. Her hearing had indeed returned.

God’s Spirit speaks to the human spirit in every person. Every time we make time to have a Quiet Time with God (however and wherever that looks like to every individual), we are stopping to get our spirit in touch with God’s Spirit. God’s Spirit speaks to us through Scripture, through truth spoken through other people, through a sermon thought that resonates, through a dream, or through a prophetic word. Quiet times help us have our spirits practiced to hear God’s whispers throughout the day.

So, when a piece of bad news is given to someone through a doctor’s report, we can go to God to hear what He says about it. Whatever God says, that is what we say. Jesus introduced this pattern to us when He said, “Therefore, whatever, I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak” (John 12:50). They say a bad report. We say whatever God has told us to say. Sometimes the things we say string together certain truths that we know in our spirit. “My God is able to do anything. My God performs miracles all the time. My God heals people.” Sometimes, the things we say are specifically what He has told us about our situations. I’ve heard God whisper, “I’ve got this.” And I had peace going on a trip when a loved one was in the hospital. Sometimes it’s a Bible verse, “He made a dry path through the Red Seas and His people went across on foot. There we rejoiced in Him” (Psalm 66:6). This gave me peace during a period of health uncertainty.

We live in a world where witchcraft has almost become normalized with all the books and movies and people that include these themes into every day life. Some people even believe they are sending out “good” things, or “what people deserve.” They speak curses and spells over other people. If this is what they say, what does God say? In Galatians 3:14 Paul writes, “Jesus our Messiah, was cursed in our place and in so doing, dissolved the curse from our lives…” (TPT).  People who have the Holy Spirit living in them can appropriate what Jesus broke on the cross for those who believe in Him. We can say, “All curses against me died on the cross with Jesus.” Sometimes this is an important step in moving forward and walking freely into the good future that God has for each of us.

Another set of “They-says” has to do with labeling and conclusions that other people say about a situation or circumstances. Many times we hear people whisper, “That’s impossible.” Or they’ll say casually, “That’s not likely” or “That’s not going to happen.” Even spoken sarcastically, it leaves a marker in our mind. So that job we really want seems impossible because we’re missing one qualification and we don’t even apply. Or that house we want to buy seems out of our financial reach so we don’t investigate. Into situations like these, we need to ask God what He says about the matter. He sometimes puts little desires that grow in us as part of our destiny. If God is putting that thought or dream in our hearts, then we can get in alignment with God by speaking it.” We might say, “I will develop my skills as a numbers person, a painter, a programmer, or a writer one day.” Meanwhile, we take a class in accounting, art, computer science, or writing as a nurturing of that desire to develop the talent. People don’t even have to know God to see this principle come into action. But most of the time, we are developing the gifts God put in our hearts and getting into alignment with our destinies.

In conclusion, our plumb line for life needs to be what God says about us and our situations based on what we read in Scripture or hear from Him directly in our hearts. Then we can speak God’s truths in the face of all of the “They Says” that bombard our ears.

God Answers Prayer

Since our last Healing Rooms Open Hours:

Ahead of time, one of the team members saw someone stationed on a submarine. They weren’t happy because they wanted the attention and glamour of being on a battleship. But God saw them and they had purpose. The submarine has great value in the strategy of war, even if it doesn’t get the visual awareness and respect that a battleship does. The individual coming to the appointment felt unseen by people in the business world. They wanted to advance in their career. They felt disrespected. The image of the person on the submarine spoke to them in their situation and they felt encouraged and seen by God. They left feeling that what they were doing and where they were in their career had value, and to pursue their destiny knowing God had a purpose and a plan for exactly where they were. They felt they were in God’s timing.

We see many people, even young teenagers, who have weathered a lot and experience anxiety or panic attacks. Many struggle with depression. One man came in and shared about his past. The Healing Rooms were recommended to him and he came, “giving it a try.” It’s hard to know what the results to the appointment will be over time. But this young man asked to connect with Jesus, and invited for the Holy Spirit to come into his life. We believe that this prayer is a miracle, and that many more miracles will follow. He now has an anchor and friend in Jesus Christ that he can call upon to go through every challenging time in his life.

The teams prayed for anxiety, marriages, dental matters, a broken wrist from pickleball, heart healing, strength to take action, wisdom, childhood trauma, cancer, collapsed lung, diabetes, reinjury to arm, God’s peace and strength, relief from fear and worry, high blood pressure, AFIB symptoms, rapid heartbeat, perseverance and endurance, life direction, whether to move or not, relationship with adult children, legal court cases, faith renewal, breakthrough in circumstances, counteracting witchcraft, workplace challenges, a new place to live, coping with the loss of a loved one, caring for a loved one, financial breakthrough, sciatica, and a hearing injury from an accident several years ago.
